Goodnight Lights is a series of events coordinated between Tri-county local first responders, MUSC care team members, and patients and their families.

This is the second year law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMS teams will stage emergency vehicles around the children’s hospital downtown and coordinate a dazzling lights display with high-visibility from patient rooms and common areas.

The five-minute synchronized light display will begin at 7:45 p.m. Children and new moms inside the hospital will be provided gift bags including a flashlight to flash a light back to first responders through the window.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, MUSC kindly ask that citizens participate by watching through the social media accounts that will stream these events:

· Facebook: @musckids

· InstaGram: @musckids

For the fourth and final Goodnight Lights this December, there are several opportunities for you to tune in to the live stream and catch a warm holiday story:

-Santa Claus will be lifted on a fire ladder truck at 7:40pm so he can wave to everyone in the hospital (Calhoun St. in front of the hospital).
-Meet the Coles: MUSC President Dr. David Cole and MUSC first lady Kathy Cole will be on site talking about the inspiring Goodnight Lights series of events.
-The Charleston Police sergeant who helps organize Goodnight Lights had a personal experience when his son was recently hospitalized at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. He is available to share what it was like for his family to see the special lights their Dad planned.

Goodnight Lights is a series of events coordinated between local first responders, MUSC care team members, patients and their families.

The special tradition continues to brighten the holidays for patients & families who are hospitalized at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital & Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion.
