Some cracks have already been exposed in South Carolina's Constitutional Carry legislation.
After manning a booth inside the Mike Kent Gun & Knife Show at the Ladson Fair grounds, Lowcountry State Rep Matt Leber tells 94.3 WSC he learned the Federal Government will not do a background check on a handgun purchaser until they're 21.
"I'm going to put a resolution into the House, hopefully to get it to pass, asking the Federal Government to reconsider that policy. If you can get married and buy a home, you should able to buy a handgun to protect that home," Leber said.

Leber also said charging different fines to different people for the same crime ie CWP permitted vs. not, is not 'equal protection' and could be rejected by the State Supreme Court.
"The last thing we did, we were very smart to put in an amendment in the bill that says, if anything is stricken from the bill, the bill still stands on it's own. All they can do is strike a line item and that would be this crazy Senate amendment that's unconstitutional...we cannot have a different class of citizens in America."
